Is this a smart lock?

DVL is different from a typical smart lock. The lock itself is mechanical, so it does not need batteries, charging, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi. The smart part is the QR-enabled access system that helps authorized users retrieve and manage access.

Does the lock need batteries?

No. The lock does not require batteries.

Does it need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?

No. DVL works without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth at the lock.

What happens when someone scans the QR code?

The QR code connects the user to the access information for that specific lock. Authorized users can retrieve the unlock code from their phone.

Can I share access with someone else?

Yes. DVL is designed for shared access. It is useful for guests, employees, vendors, contractors, maintenance workers, cleaners, property managers, and family members.

Can access be revoked?

Yes. DVL is built for situations where access needs to change over time.

Where should I use a DVL Lock?

DVL is ideal for gates, sheds, trailers, job boxes, equipment cages, storage areas, rental properties, facilities, schools, churches, and shared business assets.

Is this better than a normal combination lock?

For one person using one lock, a normal combination lock may be enough. DVL is better when access needs to be shared, remembered, managed, or changed.

Is this better than a battery-powered smart lock?

For many outdoor, commercial, temporary, or shared-access situations, yes. DVL avoids the most common smart-lock problems: dead batteries, charging, connectivity issues, pairing issues, and fragile electronics inside the lock.

  • A: No, our locks are traditional mechanical locks, rated to ASTM Grade 4 (equivalent to a Master Lock Pro Series).

    The difference is that our locks are not “dumb” either. Our patented system is the difference. It takes a traditional lock and adds a unique QR code so that anyone who scans the code can retrieve the unlock code for that specific lock, so long as that person is verified in your system via OTP.

  • A: You can — right at the lock. But in most cases, you don’t need to. DVL keeps the same strong code in place but ensures only the right people see it at the right time.

  • A: With physical keys or uncontrolled codes, you have no control over copied keys or if they wrote combinations down. With DVL, you just remove them from your system. Their phone no longer shows any codes. They lose access instantly without you changing the lock.
